Small acts big impact

We are seeking volunteers to join us in serving our community with compassion and dignity, helping distribute meals, clothing, and hygiene kits to our unhoused neighbors. We have a variety of needs and are always on the lookout for kindhearted volunteers to help us.

Genevieve's Garden, established in 2020, is more than a meal provider for the community—it's a sanctuary for those in need, including the homeless and low-income individuals. Our organization's mission is to offer comprehensive support and assistance, and to follow the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

We are seeking volunteers to drive lunches to local organizations across Hollywood to be distributed to their guests. This can be a one time volunteer role or a recurring role—we'd love to have your help either way.

HODG is a very unique community. It's kind of like a boy/girl scouts for adults. It's about connection with one another, about hanging out, and doing whatever we can to make the world better. It is also made up of mostly people for whom our systems work. All too often those people don't get involved in civic actions. HODG educates them and organizes them to be a part of the solutions!

We are seeking volunteers to support our lot operations at our West LA lots located at Iowa, National, and the West LA VA. Volunteers will be asked to welcome participants to the lot, answer questions, and help them locate their space.

Safe Parking LA provides safe overnight parking to facilitate stability and housing in Los Angeles County for individuals living in their vehicles, and advocates for fair and equitable treatment and resources for the unhoused. We bridge a gap in services by addressing the unique needs of residents whose only source of shelter is their vehicle.

SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization of neighborhood organizers who recognize unhoused individuals as fellow members of our community worthy of the same dignity, respect and representation afforded to any housed person.Our mission is to build a community-led response to homelessness in Los Angeles that addresses the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors and activates an empowered coalition of participants, volunteers and partners.

We are seeking volunteers to help us receive food deliveries on Friday mornings and/or distribute the food and supplies on Saturday mornings. This role requires a collaborative effort with a team of volunteers across our organization and aims to help those with food insecurity in the Hollywood area. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

We are seeking volunteers to prepare and serve food in our soup kitchen. We provide nourishing food, a safe-space for socializing in the courtyard, and sit-down dining for our low-income neighbors and people experiencing homelessness three days a week: Tuesdays: Volunteers prepare meals beginning at 3:30pm and serve from from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Fridays: Volunteers begin food prep around 2pm. Buffet line is open from 3pm to 5pm.  Saturdays: Volunteers begin setting up at around 8:30am; service concludes at 1pm. PATH's mission is to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. We provide a variety of services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, including employment, outreach, homelessness prevention, housing navigation, interim housing, rapid rehousing, and permanent supportive housing.

We are seeking volunteers to make lunches every Sunday for the Hollywood Food Coalition to distribute across the region. You can make the lunches at home or in a group with friends. Most people make about 10 lunches, but you can make as many as you'd like. Label the bag with the type of sandwich (this is important and allows us to give the recipients a choice). Be generous—this is the only meal these folks get all day. Lunches should contain at least six items: drink (water, Capri sun, soda), sandwich (PB+J, turkey, ham and cheese are most common), chips (individually packaged), fruit (oranges, apple sauce, bananas, but please no apples—too hard on teeth), cookies (individually packaged), and snack (beef jerky, granola bar, nuts, etc.). No glass. No alcohol. Some people decorate their bags (not required but much appreciated). Lastly, drop your lunches off at one of our drop-off locations.

We are seeking volunteers to help us at our Community Exchange—a free, concierge food service aimed at providing small to medium-sized social service nonprofits the food they need, when they want it, so they can focus on their missions. We need volunteers to help us pack food that will get distributed to these other local organizations.

The mission of Hollywood Food Coalition is to nourish the community. We welcome people to dinner each night and rescue and redistribute food daily to other organizations. We care for our immediate community through our wellness program. We build community with and through our volunteers and community partnerships.
